I love to celebrate on the 4th of July. One reason is because it is a way to celebrate our freedom and second it is in the summertime. I also love to incorporate holidays in my sessions and group classes. Last year I wrote a song called “Red, White and Blue” and I would love to share it with you today. I found some great flags to use as props while singing this patriotic song. When using this song with my toddlers and preschool children I was able to go over the rules of holding a flag, waving it up high, and no running or poking our friends. This song can encourage a child to follow directions by marching and moving feet side to side. With my older children we could have a discussion on what they like about the 4th of July, if they enjoy going to parades or being in one and of course, talk about the fireworks. I had so much fun sharing this song with my children and I hope you enjoy it too.  Happy 4th of July!
