What do you think of when it comes to Valentine’s Day? Helping your child get cards ready for school, maybe make a Valentine box for all those cute little cards. Buying your sweetheart some candy or a card. going on a hot date with that someone special. Calling your mom or dad telling them how much you love them. These are all very thoughtful ideas but what about you? Aren’t you special and important?

I always share with people that you have to love yourself before you can love another person and that you are allowed to do something nice for yourself. For the last year I made a goal for myself to become more healthy which included watching what I ate (I never know where to go when it comes to dieting, but it’s a start), and adding more exercise to my weekly routine. Each morning when I get up I complete my “miracle morning”. This is Hal Elrod’s book and if you don’t know who he is please go look him up. His early routine changed my life and I spend about 8 minutes each morning exercising. I felt great and I could slowly feel my body getting back into shape. However, I needed more exercise but just wasn’t investing in doing that. Well this year I changed that. I go to an exercise class once a week and get to “pound” it out for an hour. Yeah, you heard me, Pound Fitness is what it’s called. I love it! It’s a strength training workout and I found a class literally 15 minutes from my house. Not only do I get more time to exercise I am meeting new people and developing relationships with other people. This was another area in my life that I was lacking. I think I am wired to be with other people and I love making new friends, who doesn’t? I feel like I pamper myself each week with doing something that I love. It’s nice telling the kids, “I’m going to class, see you later.”
